Rose Garden at Independence Historical National Park

The Independence Hall Chapter, in the summer of 2003, took on a project of refurbishing the Independence Park rose gardens. These gardens may be accessed from Walnut or Locust Streets between 4th & 5th Streets in Center City Philadelphia. Markers were placed by the NSDAR in 1971 in honor of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and the PSSDAR added a marker in 1976 for the celebration of the Bicentennial. Our work on these gardens continues with assistance from volunteers knowledgeable in horticulture.
The Rose Garden, and our chapter's work to restore it, has been featured in the Philadelphia Daily News.

The DAR Schools

The Independence Hall Chapter is proud of our work with the DAR Schools. In addition to saving Campbell's Soup labels for these schools, we contribute regularly to their libraries, and we provide special gifts for the needy children at Christmas time.
